We wrote a piece back in the middle of the summer outlining the difference between blown-in and batt insulation. A copy can be found here. As ever we try to take and share a view that is devoid of bias; our goal is to help you make informed decisions. The piece was well received and we enjoyed quite a bit of conversation on the back of the publication.
What we did not speak to (intentionally) was the application differences between Havelock Wool batts and blown-in insulation. To be fair we offer both products so as to ensure there is optionality for the end-user. In other words, we are not here to convince you one is better than the other. That said, we are frequently asked what makes the most sense for a given project. We do indeed have an opinion and see nothing wrong with sharing it.

in crawl spaces, below a old floor and subfloor, what do you reocmmend to install between floor joists? Same as between walls. We are here in Central Oregon where crawl spaces with exposed dirt/earth is very cold and drafty
