Havelock Wool PRO Batt Insulation - R22 | 24" OC

We love our new insulation!! It was so great to get the sample that we could touch and smell without worrying about inhaling toxins. Feels clean and so eco friendly. Immediately after installing in our ADU, you could feel how well it worked keeping the inside cool. There was really no smell at all in the living room and bedroom and only a faint sheep smell in the bathroom (we insulated all four walls of the 5 x 8 bathroom) which disappears once the Sheetrock was in. Quality was consistent, delivery was on time and as promised. We would have liked to have a little more support on the front end. Still no reply to my first email sent via the website; eventually my contractor was able to get in touch with a person. Once you were in touch with a person, they were very helpful so no complaints there!

We are so happy with the availability of this product. It is really nice to use this wool insulation to keep our house non-toxic. The batts are clean and hold their shape well. It is amazing to work with insulation and not feel itchy. Yay!

Adding this R22 wool batting on the inside to the R9 insulation we used under the metal roof gives us a total R value of 31. We are really happy about that too.

Looking forward to many years of a "breathing" ceiling.

I heard of people using sheep's wool on a TV show many years ago. It seemed a novelty idea that would never catch on. Fast forward to now, and I need to replace damaged fiberglass insulation in my 45 year old house. Since I opt for eco-friendly, low VOC products where possible, I decided to research if anyone was still in the wool insulation business. That's how I stumbled upon Havelock. The product is phenomenal. Easy to handle and safe for the whole family. The newer self-supporting batts are much easier to install than the older blanket-style batts. My only complaint is the shipping costs. Would love to see HD distribute this product to bring down the costs on that front.

Once I put in straps just slid it in - can tell it is helping the temperature already - metal roof! Did have to cut an inch and half inch off the width to avoid bulging. Hope the moths don’t like it like they do with my yarn and other wool.
