Havelock Wool Acoustics is a new and wildly exciting offering for our business. For some time, managing sound has been an important practice in commercial construction with perhaps a particular lens on restaurants, cafes, office towers, classrooms and healthcare facilities. Countless studies show well attenuated sound makes for a better, more productive live / work environment.
We also know indoor air quality is a serious problem - the EPA warns indoor air quality is some 3-5x worse than outdoor air. Fortunately, it can be mitigated with filters and air exchanges.
What if you can attenuate sound and improve indoor air quality with a natural comfortable aesthetic all at once? You can.
We’ve wanted to enter the sound attenuation game for some time but frankly did not have the right manufacturing equipment. Well, now we do. We are making panels at 1 and 2” thicknesses; each with noise reduction coefficients that meet or exceed other products on the market. The passive air filtration inherent to the construct of a wool fiber is where there is simply no comparison to any other product. Add in wool’s natural ability to manage moisture without upsetting performance and what you get is a sound and air quality panel unlike any other.
Sourced below please take a second to appreciate the views of The Harvard School of Public Health where it is made clear that indeed there is a direct correlation between improved cognitive function and indoor air quality. An additional favorite study is the work of graduate student Jennifer Wang at UT Austin where she found the most effective medium for removing formaldehyde from the air was in fact a wool fiber. These studies are comprehensive and real; and an equally matched solution is now available right here on our website.
Minimizing sound creates a comfortable, safe and harmonious environment. A place to relax, learn, communicate and just be. To learn more please check out our spec sheet here or our website here, and reach out on sales@havelockwool.com with any all questions.
All the best!
